Even though Kami knew that she should go on a mission, she felt incredibly trepidatious about it all. To say she was nervous to open her call would be an understatement. But we put the pressure on and got her to do it before she left for a church meeting:
A few days previous to this, my mom asked her if there was anywhere that she was really hoping to serve. Kami told her that she would be happy to serve ANYWHERE but the Philippines! Her good friend, Annie Stoddard came home early from a Philippine mission because of MRCA and had all sorts of horror stories to go with it.
So when she read that she would be serving in the Philippine Cebu East mission, we were shocked and felt sick to our stomachs!
This didn't last too long. By the next day we were all feeling a lot better about it and remembering people who had wonderful experiences there:
