A vomitous Day

We saw a sign advertising a victorian town called Ferndale in California and decided to swing by there on our way.  It was really awesome!  Almost every house and business was an intricate victorian building.  We strolled the streets and then had our lunch there.

As we worked our way slowly down the coast of California, we decided to go to Fort Bragg, which has a glass beach.  This took us right along the coast and every road along the coast winds up and down and in and around and is not the best situation for a car load of kids that are sensitive to motion sickness.  Which we are.  Luckily Shawn had planned in advance and brought along a stack of what he called "barf bags" from the doctor's office!  These bags came in a flat stack, but each individual bag could be punched down and then even had measurements along the sides so that you could tell how much vomit had been emitted from each person.  So handy; and out of the many vomiting episodes along the way, Nolan won the prize for the greatest quantity of vomit at a time...

A picture of Maddie and Pace who did just fine:

And poor Isabelle who didn't...And Abram who really is buckled up, but manages to lean on the seat in front of him all the better to see the movie...:
We finally made it!:
It didn't look like much, but this is what the "sand" looked like:

The kids had a ball scavenging for beautiful pieces of glass, ranging from blues, to greens, to white and brown and red.
Caden, strange man, Kami, Isabelle, Shawn and Pace:
This was NOT a favorite day of the trip, due to all the driving.
