We decided to go on a hike this day, and Caden found one that took us from a main road, down to a beach. It was a misty day and I couldn't get over the beauty of the forest floor, and the sheer majesty of the Redwood trees!

On this day we also drove to a canyon that is known for its walls of ferns growing down either side of it. It was breathtaking. Some of the kids fell asleep on the way and weren't too happy to be woken up, so the first part of the hike was an exercise in patience:
But everyone got happy and we were so glad we got to see this! So much more incredible in real life than in pictures:

We could have hiked all day in all of this beauty....so we did!
