Jacking up the house

When we moved in, one of the things that bothered Shawn was that the house was lower on one side than the other.  He decided that he had a solution to the problem:  he would jack up the house!  This was quite the undertaking.  We had one hydraulic jack, but he borrowed three more from my brother Aaron and Casey Severe.  Then all of them thought it sounded like a really fun project so they all came over to help out.  It was a couple of days project, but by the end, the house was more close to level.  It never got perfect because I got nervous that too many other things would get broken....

I wish I had been staring at the walls when the house finally moved because it looked like a zipper had split open all over the walls;

Luckily Shawn thought ahead and left all of these doors open when he did this because they wouldn't close again once the house moved up.  Meaning they wouldn't have opened, either.  But he quickly rehung the door so that it would shut again.
And he had the walls fixed in no time and I got them all painted again. And now the rooms look better than ever, I might add...

All of this to level out the house another inch.
