Anjoleena

At the end of July the sister missionaries called me and asked if I could pick up one of their investigators and bring her to the church for a tour.  Joleen Hart was the investigator.  As she talked it became apparent that she had a lot of stress in her life and needed a lot of help.  I offered to take her along with me when I did my shopping so that she could also do hers, since she didn't have a license or vehicle.  After talking to her, it became apparent that what she really needed was help getting to her appointments with her probabion officer twice a week.  So I started taking her on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and watching her baby Anjoleena while she was there.

Not too much later, it came out that she had a lot of community service hours that she needed to take care of, but couldn't do them with a baby.  I told her that we could watch her, and in no time she had completed 80 hours of community service and finished it all up!  It has been fun watching stress leave her life little by little and see her becoming more "normal" again.  And our family has fallen in love with her sweet baby that is so smiley and happy and super easy to watch!:

Joleen calls every Sunday morning and makes sure that I can give her a ride to church.  She loves it and has a lot of questions every week!  Sunday afternoons we pick her up at about 4:30 and bring her to the house for dinner and then a family home evening lesson.  Shawn has helped her write several letters to the courts that she needed to do, but wasn't sure how.  She is making so much progress and hopes to be able to get her license back and then be able to get her three other kids as well.  She hasn't seen them in two years:(  We are helping her, and little by little, it is going to happen!
