Saturday we were canning peaches like crazy - we had three wet bath canners going and were able to finish 150 quarts in 1 1/2 days! That was my best time canning peaches EVER with all of that help! So nice that the peaches were ripe-all at once - and for labor day weekend when Shawn and the kids were home:)
As we began canning the peaches I was explaining to Abram that peaches start with "P" and telling him the sound P makes. After a long day of canning on Saturday, Abram walked up to Shawn and said, "Dad, Pizza starts with a P." Shawn said, "Wow, you're right! You are SO smart!" Abram just stood there looking at Shawn with a bored look on his face while Shawn bragged on him, then he said, "Well....go GET some!!!"
Shawn went and got some. Do we even stop and wonder why this kid thinks he can boss us around?!
What a smart little guy! I think he's going to keep you all on your toes, but you'll probably have lots to laugh at too.
ReplyDeleteAlright you just made my amount of peaches I canned look real puny. 46 quarts. Although we did get 66 quarts of pears done too. It is unfortunate that most of us like pears better. Now I am on to apple sauce and hoping to get 100 quarts. It is so much better when someone is helping I think.

Holy Peaches! You own three water bath canners? You must have an outdoor propane burner in order to keep three canners going right?

Actually we borrowed to canners and Shawn's parent's outdoor propane burner because everything was ready right then. I think I'll do it every year- it was so easy!!
