Moments this summer

Whe we went to the dentist Abram and Nolan both had cavities and were nervous to get them filled. Especially Abram since he’d had it done before and knew what to expect. I love how he looks like Ron Weasely when he’s nervous:

With as many as 6 soccer games per week I decided to finally purchase a sports umbrella. I’m really enjoying it!

Caden’s been teaching himself to play guitar. I love it!

Nolan built a fort that we fondly refer to as the “shack”. The boys can’t wait to sleep in it:

All I want to do is garden ALL DAY LONG! We have a back yard garden and a really huge garden down the side of a barn plus all the flower beds. I am in heaven. Me and one of my gardening buddies:

Caden works on a concrete crew and it’s HARD WORK! I guess a mom’s sleeping children are always cute to them:

Funny story: at work Caden was applying sunscreen and one of the guys on the crew asked why. Caden said it was because if he didn’t, he’d be a black man. The guy said he had been wondering if he was...The comment made Caden’s day😂

We’ve enjoyed MANY walks and beautiful GORGEOUS summer scenes that I feel I must store up for the long winters we endure:

Anne visits

Isabelle was going nuts for more of a social life. Right after we moved here schools closed because of Covid-19 and she was so disappointed! We heard Eli was going to Oregon so we arranged for him to bring my niece Anne back with him. She stayed for 2 weeks and it was great! On a hike:

We even went on our first camp-out of the year while she was here, but the weather was pretty crummy so we want her to come back soon.

We went to birch creek for the camp out and also visited the Indian hieroglyphics that are near there.

We brought home 3 ticks. One on Abram, one on Pace and one on Anne.🤢

Birthday pancake:

The birthday cake which was a collaborative effort between Belle and I. She bakes and frosted it and I decorated our and made the fondant frogs. Anni had requested a “frog princess cake” because we have been telling her that story at bedtime. She is mostly interested in the frog, so we emphasized that the most😉

She was SO excited for her birthday this year and I asked all of the extended family to send a video of themselves singing to her. She LOVED IT!

Date night

It’s been hard having all of the temples closed because we used to go to dinner and then to the temple for date night. I got this beautiful picture of the temple one date night evening though!

Once the weather warmed up enough we went on a hike. It was straight uphill- I was scrambling on all fours to get there, but it was beautiful at the top and so worth it:

Many evenings we go on LONG walks together. At least four miles at a time. And we often see some beautiful skies!:

Home church

We’ve really been enjoying our home church. We have enough people to always have a couple of talks, a musical number and someone to lead singing time during Sunday school for the little kids. Everyone’s very reverent until Sunday school:
